We started the "Ask the Expert" free service to compliment the in-depth
information provided on
www.federalretirement.net and to answer site visitors questions that are
unique and not addressed elsewhere online. The Expert replies are added to our
FAQ page and this information is also used to update or supplement the content
on this site in each major area.
The Forum Hosts are Dennis Damp for Lifestyle and
Employment, Linda Duncan for Benefits and
Finance, and Chuck Jumpeter for Wellness and Health.
Combined our hosts have over 91 years of federal government work experience in a
broad spectrum of fields and interests. More will be added as we expand this
area. Each Forum Host writes a column that is sent out to our
email newsletter subscribers.
The job center was launched to assist federal retirees
earn supplemental income and for federal employees approaching retirement search
for jobs that would be suitable to their needs. Many retirees work either to
earn additional income or to keep active in retirement and many look for work
within their field of expertise to work full time in their respective fields for
many years after leaving federal service. This function has grown significantly
due to demand and site visitor interests. We network with carious services to
compile viable job lists for part and full time work, consulting jobs, and temp
jobs.
Many feds have security clearances and can find work with contractors
worldwide. If you have a security clearance and are looking for a change or
increased income explore the
many opportunities available to you.
Retirement offers many the opportunity to either complete a degree or to take
classes to learn about their hobbies or areas of interest. This is an ideal time
to explore your options and now it is easy than ever with online course from
major universities, colleges, and trade schools. If you are interested in
completing a degree or simply going back to school to learn about one of your
passions whatever that may be check out our
Education
Center and research the many possibilities available to you. I was always
interested in history and archeology and hope to eventually take courses on
these subjects when I actually slow down in retirement.
