The position is located within the Office of Administration.  The Office of Administration (OA) is responsible for all aspects of financial management including accounting, budget, financial systems, procurement and acquisition, facilities and engineering, asset management, investment management, and oversight of all U.S. Customs and Border Protection financial operations. What are the duties of the position?
 
The incumbent will serve as a senior contract specialist and be responsible for the acquisition of equipment and services of significant importance to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.  This includes responsibility for solicitation, negotiation, administration, closeout and termination of purchase orders and contracts.  The incumbent may also perform developing, implementing and reviewing contracting plans for pre-award, post award, price/cost analysis and a wide variety of procurement activities.  The incumbent may also serve as lead negotiator, planning negotiation strategy, coordinating strategy with negotiation teams, and leading the negotiations.
